I've always loved going to the movies. In fact, I wish they'd bring back the double feature and drive-ins. Still, there are plenty of opportunities to see old features, foreign films, festival outings and opening nights. Living in Tinseltown means every film is available at any time.

Since becoming a member of the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences, movie going has taken on new meaning. Before I let films sweep over me. Now that I vote for the Oscars I look with a more critical eye. I also see so many more movies.

By the time I fill out my voter form I've annually watched approximately 200 movies. There are some weeks when I will see six or eight films. I have an obligation which I'm going to meet. I also don't want to miss seeing some small worthy film that others might overlook.
